La Vita Nostra — Our Life. We’re all familiar with La Cosa Nostra (“Our Thing”), the Mafia’s official name for its organization. Here at La Vita Nostra, we want to provide the most realistic simulation of Mafia life available online. In order to do so, we’ve studied countless online mob sims, as well as console games. They’ve all come up short. We realized that, among other flaws, what makes these games so unrealistic is that they’re episodic, with endless “lives” available to players. In the real world of wiseguys and mafiosos, the stakes are much higher. Our goal is to bring you as close to the feeling of being a wiseguy as a law-abiding citizen can get. To do so, we’ve created an underworld in which it’s all or nothing. Get yourself whacked, that’s it. No second chances, no re-do, no multiple lives, no redemption. La Vita Nostra isn’t just a game, it’s a life. And you only get one.

La Vita Nostra is designed to bring you as close to the feeling of life in the underworld as you can get in an online simulation. One of the primary flaws of most online sims is the number of players. Online mob sims typically brag about having millions of active participants. This is far too many to provide a realistic setting.
Each unique instance of La Vita Nostra is limited to a maximum of 2,500 players. When this limit is reached, new players must join the waiting list for the next available instance. Additionally, of these 2,500, there are only around 500 “made men” at any time. They operate in a virtual city of several million citizens – each of whom could represent a potential score.
There are no second chances in La Vita Nostra. Jail and prison sentences will keep you out of the action until you’ve served your time (although you may gain valuable skills and connections while you’re away). And be careful who you cross – if you get whacked, that’s it. You’re done.
Probably the single biggest thing that sets La Vita Nostra apart as the most realistic mob sim is the element of money. New players pay a monthly subscription rate of $12.99. Prove yourself a good earner and stay alive long enough to get “straightened out” and you’ll become a made man – a full fledged member of one of LVN’s 5 crime families. From that day on, it’s on the cuff. You will no longer pay to play. And it gets better. Rise to the rank of caporegime and you’ll start getting paid. Real cash deposited to your real bank account each month. Capos make between $50 and $200 a month depending on their performance. Naturally, become boss of a family and your earnings go way up! The lowest ranking boss gets $500 a month, while the highest ranking gets $2000!
